Khaberni - The Jordanian Customs announced a modification to the special tax system and the customs duties imposed on alcoholic beverages, linking them progressively according to the alcohol content in the product, in order to align with the international practices in force.
The Customs confirmed that the modification also includes alcoholic beverages sold within the special economic zone of Aqaba, where the same fees and taxes will be collected on them effective from the date of the issuance of the instructions on 6/5/2026.
This measure comes within the framework of organizing mechanisms for collecting fees and taxes in a way that ensures tax fairness and enhances the clarity of the procedures followed according to the current regulations and instructions.
