Queen Rania Participates with a Group of Youth in Sahm AlKaffarat and Gets Insights on Community Initiatives

Khaberni - Queen Rania Al Abdullah visited Sahm Al-Kaffarat in Irbid today, Wednesday, where she met a group of young men and women and joined them on a walking tour along one of the natural trails in the area overlooking the Yarmouk River.

She met with several locals who are initiative leaders, and listened to explanations about the "Khirat Sahm" project which aims to highlight agricultural and traditional heritage, and enable farmers and families to market their products such as olive oil, pomegranates, guava, and rural food items.

A group of tourism activists also spoke about their experiences in documenting and promoting natural tourist sites, and they highlighted the importance of initiatives and personal and community efforts in showcasing the beauty of nature in Northern Jordan, especially for its variety of natural trails and touristic activities.

This visit is a continuation of previous visits by the Queen; aimed at supporting the promotion of local tourism, the most recent being to Wadi Rum; with the aim of highlighting the tourism diversity in the Kingdom.
