Khaberni - On Wednesday evening, Israel conducted an assassination attempt in the southern suburb of Beirut, targeting the leader of Hezbollah's Radwan Force, according to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Yisrael Katz.
Hezbollah did not immediately comment, while Israeli media reported that assessments in Israel suggest the assassination was successful.
Channel 14 of Israel reported, "Our forces succeeded in eliminating Malik Balut, the leader of the Radwan Force and several other militants with him."
According to the official broadcasting authority, an Israeli official stated that the assassination was coordinated with the United States.
Describing the operation, the newspaper Yisrael Hayom reported that an Israeli warship fired 3 missiles at an apartment in a building in Harat Hreik in the southern suburb of Beirut.
