Higher Education Military Service Completion Certificate Required for Completing 12 University Credit Equivalency

Khaberni - The official spokesperson for the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Mohannad Al-Khatib, confirmed that every student who has completed their military service must review their enlistment to implement the required clearance properly. The student will be granted a formal and authenticated certificate of military service completion, and a copy of it will be handed to the university's admission and registration unit to proceed with the equivalency of 12 credited hours of pass/fail courses.

Al-Khatib said on Wednesday for the program "Voice of the Kingdom" that the instructions have left the credit equivalency open to the university, to include the 12 hours for national education and military sciences subjects. If the student has already completed these subjects, they will move to the category of mandatory university requirements without paying fees.

He added that coordination has been made so that the military service completion certificate is included among the documents listed on the "Sanad" application.

Al-Khatib mentioned that about two thousand students participated in the first batch of the military service program, while a small number of students were postponed for a year or transferred to other batches for acceptable reasons that comply with the military service instructions.

He explained that the second batch has been postponed to June 20, 2026, at the recommendation of the Ministry of Higher Education, until the second semester and its final exams have ended, pointing out that the third batch will be in October.

Al-Khatib clarified that there is a high-level joint military committee chaired by the assistant to the chief of staff, aimed at overseeing the students' affairs and overcoming the challenges they may face in joining and completing the military service program.
