Khaberni - The Beirut Criminal Court issued an acquittal verdict for the Lebanese artist Fadel Shaker from the charge of attempting to murder Hilal Hamoud, in a case that dates back many years, after hearing sessions and reviewing evidence over months, which was considered a significant development in one of his most prominent outstanding legal files.
In the first comment from his family, his son, artist Mohamed Fadel Shaker, expressed optimism about the decision, affirming that it represents a step towards "revealing the truth", in his words, and noting through his account on "Instagram" his trust in the integrity of Lebanese judiciary, and his expectation of positive developments in the rest of the files.
The judgment issued by the court, presided over by Judge Bilal Dhanawi, after studying the testimonies of confirmation and denial, thus closes a judicial file that dates back to the events of 2012, and is one of the most prominent cases associated with the name Shaker in recent years.
Despite this development, the judicial path of the Lebanese artist is not yet concluded, as he faces other cases before the military court, notably the Abra events file, which is still undergoing trial awaiting subsequent sessions.
In the same context, the defense team for Fadel Shaker, represented by lawyer Amata Mubarak, has made a request for his release on bail in exchange for providing legal guarantees, including the commitment to attend the sessions and not leave the country.
Observers believe that the issuance of the acquittal verdict in one of the cases may open the door to reassessing some other files, especially in the absence of direct evidence in a number of charges related to the Abra events.
It is worth noting that Fadel Shaker had surrendered to the Lebanese authorities in October 2025, in a move aimed at resolving his legal status, after years of pursuit and convictions in absentia, coinciding with his continued artistic presence through musical works that achieved wide spread on social platforms.
