Khaberni - The French Armed Forces said on Wednesday that the French aircraft carrier group (Charles de Gaulle) is heading towards the Red Sea and Gulf of Aden, as part of a joint effort between France and Britain to prepare for a future mission aimed at enhancing freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz.
The French Ministry of Armed Forces stated in a statement that the aircraft carrier group crossed the Suez Canal on Wednesday headed towards the south of the Red Sea.
The group was deployed in the Eastern Mediterranean shortly after the United States and Israel waged war on Iran, and it can remain at sea for a period ranging between four and five months.
