Khaberni - The Land Transport Regulatory Authority has launched 3 new transportation routes within Ajloun Governorate, aimed at facilitating citizens and enhancing public transportation services, according to Amani Maqdadi, director of the authority's office in Ajloun, on Wednesday.
Maqdadi stated that the new routes include: Ajloun – Castle – Cable Car route, a service within Anjara town, and a route from Usra to Ajloun, indicating that these routes were established to serve previously underserved areas.
She added that the Ajloun – Irbid route has been enhanced with a medium-sized bus, which had previously operated on a temporary permit, and is now permanently assigned to the same route, noting that the bus belongs to the same operator working on the Ajloun – Irbid route.
Maqdadi mentioned that a study is currently underway to launch a route from Arjan to Baoun to Irbid, noting that the authority regularly coordinates with the traffic police and the governor of Ajloun on issues related to vehicles with expired licenses, in addition to monitoring buses' compliance with reaching the end of their routes.
She highlighted that the number of transport routes in Ajloun Governorate totals 43 lines, with 19 external lines and 24 internal ones, with 131 medium-sized buses operating these routes, in addition to 7 yellow taxi offices.
