Khaberni - Recently, a controversy was raised about Cristiano Ronaldo undergoing repeated doping tests after official clarifications revealed that what happened was part of adopted routine procedures, not due to personal targeting.
The story began after media reports talked about Ronaldo, a player for Al Nassr, undergoing two tests within 72 hours, before and after a match against Al-Qadsiah, in addition to a third test within two months, which opened the door to speculations of a "conspiracy" against him.
According to clarifications from the "Okaz" newspaper, the Saudi Anti-Doping Committee conducts two field visits to each club during the season, which include a random number of players, not any specific player.
The tests also included other players within the team, alongside similar visits to clubs like Al-Hilal and Al-Ahli, where a number of players, including Yassine Bounou, underwent similar procedures.
In relation, Ronaldo and a number of international players at Al Nassr underwent an additional test requested by the International Football Federation, as part of the preparations for the 2026 World Cup.
Interestingly, the selection of players for these tests is done via "draw", which explains the repeated choice of Ronaldo, whether before or after matches, without any direct targeting.
