Khaberni - The Greek Coast Guard announced the rescue of all crew members of a cargo ship after it ran aground and sank off the island of Andros early Wednesday morning.
An official from the Greek Coast Guard, who requested anonymity as he was not authorized to speak to the media, said the cargo ship sailed from Albania headed for Ukraine when it hit rocks off the island of Andros and sank.
The official added that two crew members were rescued from the sea and seven others were retrieved from a rocky area on Andros, noting that the sailors were taken to the island's clinic.
The cause of the incident is not yet clear. The official stated that the ship's captain confirmed there were no other crew members missing.
