Khaberni- Saudi sports journalist Faisal Al-Jefn launched a scathing attack on Moroccan Abdel Razzak Hamdallah, the forward for Al Shabab Club, following the recent controversy he caused inside the team's dressing room.
According to media reports, Al Shabab's administration decided to punish Hamdallah by excluding him from the Al Nassr match, in addition to keeping him away from training for 7 days, amidst expectations that he will not continue until the end of the season.
Reports indicated that the conflict erupted between Hamdallah and his teammate, Belgian player Yannick Carrasco during the last match against Al Taawoun in the Roshen Professional Football League, after the team received a free kick outside the penalty area. The Moroccan player went to execute it and asked Carrasco for the ball, who complied before Hamdallah passed it to another teammate, which angered the Belgian player.
Faisal Al-Jefn said in radio statements: "Why should we tolerate narcissistic foreign players? Hamdallah is paid a salary of up to 2 million and 700 thousand Riyals monthly, which is a very large figure higher than what Donald Trump, the President of the United States, is paid."
He added: "I remember his issue with Karim Benzema when the latter asked for the number 9, and Hamdallah replied: if he is Benzema, then I am Hamdallah. He also had a previous issue with Al Nassr at the airport, before he later moved to Al Ittihad, reflecting his recurring problems with clubs."
He continued: "At Al Ittihad, the crises repeated, and now with Al Shabab as well. I do not understand why the clubs tolerate him, whereas Carrasco is a professional player who gives everything he has, while Hamdallah creates problems inside the dressing room, with the logic: either I score or I get upset. This is not acceptable, and he should leave."
Faisal Al-Jefn concluded: "I urge the clubs not to sign such types of players, because he is a narcissistic player and should not be tolerated."
It is noted that Abdel Razzak Hamdallah (35 years old) moved to the Saudi League in the summer of 2018 from Al Rayyan Club in Qatar and joined the ranks of Al Nassr Club, where he continued for more than three seasons before terminating his contract in November 2021, and then moved to Al Ittihad Jeddah in January 2022.
The Moroccan striker played two seasons with Al Ittihad, before joining Al Shabab in the summer of 2024, where he scored 31 goals and assisted 6 goals in 45 matches across various competitions.
Meanwhile, Al Shabab occupies the thirteenth place in the Roshen Professional League standings with 32 points, while Al Nassr leads with 79 points, 5 points ahead of its runner-up Al Hilal who has played one less match, with an upcoming match between the two teams on May 12th.
