Khaberni - Adi Obeidat, the CEO of the Jordanian Industrial Cities Company, confirmed on Tuesday that the visit of His Majesty King Abdullah II to the Zarqa Industrial City represents a direct support for the industrial sector as a crucial component of the national economy, and a message that enhances the importance of continuing work according to the highest standards.
Obeidat explained during his talk to "Al Mamlaka" that Zarqa Industrial City is considered the first smart and green industrial city in Jordan, where His Majesty the King observed its various facilities and stages of completion, expecting the project to be final and handed over by the end of June 2026.
He stated that the concept of the city is based on environmental sustainability through the use of environmentally friendly materials and the promotion of clean energy, in addition to smart systems for facility management that rely on the Internet of Things to control electricity and water, including the establishment of the first security operations center of its kind in the industrial cities in the Kingdom.
He mentioned that the city will attract high-value added investments, focused on electronic and engineering industries, recycling, alternative energy, battery manufacturing, and the electric vehicles sector and its components.
He added that the city is currently ready to receive investments, expecting that the first phase will provide more than 8500 direct job opportunities upon its full occupation.
He noted that a package of special incentives to attract high-quality investments will be launched soon, along with the benefits provided by the Jordanian investment law.
