Title Decider for Jordanian League Postponed to the Final Round for the Fifth Consecutive Season

Khaberni  -   For the fifth consecutive season, the professional football league refuses to award its champion early, delaying the decisive word until the last round, in a scene that reflects the peak of excitement and rivalry, and confirms that the struggle for the title has become more complicated and intertwined than ever before.

When it comes down to the moment of truth, there's no room for half-measures or space for error. Thus, the professional league imposes itself season after season, and also continues to write the excitement scenario until the last breath, in a scene that has become a registered mark of the competition, according to Al-Ghad.

And in light of this scene, the professional league proves that it is no longer just a traditional championship, but a competition teeming with life and rivalry, where the champion cannot be predicted until the last moment, where football remains loyal to its beautiful madness, a madness that recognizes only those who endure until the end.

A lethal goal scored by the brilliant Faisaly defender, Mohannad Khairallah, against the Ramtha goalkeeper Malik Shalabiya, in the last minute of the match between the two teams in the penultimate week of the league, brought back excitement, rivalry, fun, and competition to the league, repeating the scene from the past four seasons, and depriving Al-Hussein Irbid fans of celebrating their third consecutive title and postponing the decision for the teams' meeting in the last round, while the draw of Al-Wehdat with Al-Salt settled the matters for the Green, distancing it from the title for the fifth consecutive season.

Entering the decisive match, Al-Hussein Irbid, the leader with 59 points, knows its fate is in its own hands, as it suffices with either a win or a draw to climb the victory podium, while Al-Faisal stands at 56 points with only one option, to win, and nothing else, to snatch the title by the advantage of direct confrontations, in an equation that pressures the nerves and tests the character before the technical skills.

This scene didn't happen by chance, but came after a fluctuating season that unfolded in every sense of the word, where teams exchanged the lead at more than one stage, in a picture that reflects the level of competition and absence of decisive differences. Al-Ramtha imposed itself as a leader for many weeks, presenting stable football and notable results, before entering the race of complex calculations in the final meters.

On the other hand, Al-Faisal was not far from the scene, but topped the leaderboard for several rounds, benefiting from its experience and long history in managing such conflicts, reaffirming every time that it doesn't disappear from the title race regardless of how intense the competition is.

Al-Hussein Irbid, on the other hand, experienced a different scenario, sometimes finding itself outside the lead due to the postponement of several of its matches, which did not necessarily reflect its true strength, before regaining momentum and reorganizing the cards benefiting from those postponed games, to snatch the lead at the most crucial timing.

These fluctuations were not just numbers on a leaderboard, but were a direct reflection of an exceptional season, where the level of excitement peaked, and each round brought with it new surprises, overturning the balances and reshaping the features of the competition anew.

The current struggle carries additional historical dimensions, as Al-Faisaly enters the battle armed with its record numbers as the most decorated club with 35 league titles, granting it great confidence and accumulated experience in deciding major confrontations. On the other hand, Al-Hussein Irbid aims to write a new chapter in its history by retaining the title for the third consecutive time, an achievement that enhances its presence as a rising force that has strongly imposed itself in recent years.

The title struggle in the past five seasons hasn't strayed from the top four, a scene that repeats this season also with the presence of Al-Hussein Irbid, Al-Faisaly, Al-Wehdat, and Al-Ramtha, a clear indication of these clubs' stability in the competition circle, and their ability to constantly be a part of the title-winning equation.

The current scene isn't new to Jordanian football but is an extension of years of "football drama," which has made the last round a theater for decisive actions. In the 2021-2022 season, Al-Ramtha wrote one of the most beautiful championship stories when it snatched the title, its third in history, after an exciting draw with Al-Jazeera, benefiting from the direct encounter difference with Al-Wehdat, despite being tied in points, confirming that small details make champions.

And the situation wasn't different in the following 2022-2023 season, when Al-Faisaly restored its historical prestige and crowned the title after a resounding win over Al-Jazeera, enhancing its record number, and confirming its return to the forefront after a fierce fight that wasn't decided until the last round.

Then came the 2023-2024 season to witness the birth of a "new champion," where Al-Hussein Irbid succeeded in writing history and crowning its first title, after a decisive win in the last round, clearly signaling a shift in power balances.

In the last season, 2024-2025, the madness peaked when Al-Hussein Irbid snatched its second consecutive title with a dramatic scenario, taking advantage of Al-Wehdat's stumble in the final moments, reconfirming that the true champion is the one with "the longer breath" until the final whistle.

The current season's league is held with ten clubs participating, in an exceptional season framed within the strategy of the Jordan Football Association, to develop competitions and modernize the championship system. Competitions adopt the league system divided into three stages, where the champion is crowned as the team that collects the most points at the end of the three stages, while the last two placed teams descend to the first division.

It is expected that today, the competitions department will issue the schedules for the 27th and last round of the league, which will witness encounters between: Shabab Al-Jordan and Al-Sareeh, Al-Jazeera and Al-Salt, Al-Hussein Irbid with Al-Faisaly, Al-Wehdat with Al-Ahli, and Al-Ramtha with Al-Baqa. Information indicates that the championship-deciding match will be held next Friday.
