Khaberni - Syria has opened the Qamar Bridge border crossing with Lebanon, as part of efforts to expand the readiness of the crossings and enhance the movement between the two countries.
The "SANA" agency reported that Mazen Alloush, the director of relations at the General Authority for Ports and Customs, and Abdullah Shamat, the director of passenger affairs, inaugurated the Qamar Bridge border crossing with Lebanon.
The movement of travelers in both directions through the crossing, located in rural Homs, has started following the completion of the necessary operational and organizational arrangements to ensure smooth procedures and the fluidity of movement.
Regarding the equipment, simplified procedures have been adopted and audit operations have been accelerated to reduce waiting time, along with providing guidance and organizational services within the crossing and enhancing security and service readiness, in line with the expected nature of the movement.
The Lebanese Ministry of Public Works announced yesterday the preparation of the crossing from the Lebanese side, including the bridge and the plazas to ensure safety and organize the movement across.
It is noted that the services of this crossing had been suspended since the year 2024, following the destruction of the bridge due to Israeli bombing that targeted the land border crossings between Lebanon and Syria at that time.
