Khaberni - Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi mourned the late artist Hani Shaker, who passed away today, Sunday, at the age of 73, after battling a health crisis in recent days.
El-Sisi said in a post on his official pages that he extends his deepest condolences to the Egyptian people and fans of authentic art, praising the career of the late artist, who "enriched singing with the sweetest artistic creations on national, social, and humanitarian occasions, with his distinctive voice and refined performance."
The Musicians' Syndicate mourns him
On its part, the Syndicate of Musical Professions, headed by artist Mostafa Kamel, mourned the late with great sadness, confirming that he left a significant artistic legacy that marked a milestone in the history of Arab singing.
The syndicate explained in a statement that Hani Shaker is considered one of the most prominent icons of art in Egypt and the Arab world, having maintained his position for decades through his works characterized by sophistication and high sensitivity.
It added that his departure represents a great loss to the artistic scene, noting that he was a model of the committed artist who presented art that reflects authentic values, and that his works will remain present in the minds of the audience.
Condolences messages came in from art stars, where the artist Yousra expressed her grief, describing his departure as "a great loss for Arab art," confirming that his works will remain engraved in the memory of generations.
Artist Yasser Galal mourned the late with touching words, extending condolences to his family and fans, while Lebanese singer Assi El Hallani expressed his sorrow, affirming that his departure represents a big loss for Arab art.
Artist Angham wrote a touching message, recalling her memories with the late, praising his ethics and kindness, while artist Ahmed Saad expressed his shock, describing him as "the friend and the teacher."
Artist Ahmed El Awadi also mourned the late, saying: "Farewell, Prince of Arab singing Hani Shaker."
Health crisis before his departure
Several of the artist's close associates had revealed details of his last health crisis, where he suffered a setback a few days before his death, and was transferred to Paris for treatment, after suffering from general weakness due to a significant loss of blood.
Information indicated that he entered a critical condition, which included respiratory failure, necessitating his transfer to ICU and his placement on mechanical ventilation, in addition to a deterioration in some vital functions, leading to his unconsciousness.
Despite doctors' attempts to save him, his condition did not respond to treatment, leaving behind a long artistic career that spanned decades.
