Israeli Broadcasting Authority claims Trump rejected latest Iranian proposal to stop the war

Khaberni - The Israeli Broadcasting Authority claimed on Sunday that US President Donald Trump rejected the latest Iranian proposal submitted through Pakistan to end the war.

According to the authority, Trump commented on the proposal: "It's unacceptable to me; I've reviewed it, considered it, and it's unacceptable."

As of 19:00 GMT, there has been no official response from the American side regarding what the official Hebrew broadcasting authority reported, while Iran said that it had received the American response to its proposal.

The spokesman for the Iranian Foreign Ministry, Ismail Baqai, said that his country is currently studying the American response to Iran's 14-point proposal, according to state television.

In the same vein, Channel 12 Hebrew, quoting unnamed Israeli political officials, said that the Iranian proposal "is far from the American minimum," amid estimates that the chances of a breakthrough in the negotiations are almost non-existent, and that the military option is closer than ever.

In the context, security sources mentioned to the same channel that there are "targets that have not been exhausted" during the war, and preparations are being made to complete them in case the fighting resumes.

Channel 14 also quoted unnamed senior Israeli officials as saying that "returning to fighting with Iran is dictated by the facts, and it is not a matter of if but when," in reference to the increasing likelihood of a military confrontation.

According to the semi-official "Tasnim" news agency, Tehran presented a revised 14-point response to a previous 9-point American proposal through the Pakistani mediator, focusing on "ending the war comprehensively and definitively" rather than temporary truces.

According to the agency, the proposed clauses include ensuring protection from military aggression, the withdrawal of American forces from around Iran, lifting the naval blockade, releasing frozen Iranian assets, paying compensations, canceling sanctions, and ending the war on various fronts, including Lebanon, along with establishing a new mechanism for the Straits of Hormuz.

On February 28, the United States and Israel started a war on Iran which left more than 3,000 dead, before Washington and Tehran announced a truce on April 8, in the hope of reaching an agreement to end the conflict.

Pakistan hosted a round of talks between the parties on April 11, which did not lead to an agreement, and later an extension of the truce was announced at the request of Islamabad without specifying a duration.

On April 27, a spokesperson for the Iranian Parliament's National Security and Foreign Policy Committee, Ibrahim Rezaee, stated that Iran had outlined its conditions in a 10-point framework, including recognition of its right to enrich uranium, payment of compensation for outcomes of American Israeli attacks, and acceptance of the Iranian mechanism for the Straits of Hormuz.
