Khaberni - The teams of the Ministry of Water and Irrigation / Water Authority, Internal Control Unit carried out campaigns to control and backfill wells and remove encroachments on water sources in Khan Al-Zabib / the capital governorate and the Ruseifa area / Zarqa governorate, with the participation of the Directorate of Water Basins and Drilling and the Directorate of Central Workshops / Water Authority in coordination with the Ministry of Interior accompanied by security forces from the Public Security, Gendarmerie and the Royal Administration for Environmental Protection. An illegal well was backfilled in the Khan Al-Zabib area in south Amman in coordination with the Giza Security Center, and the technical staff completed the works and prepared the necessary reports for the incident.
In Ruseifa, based on available information, a security campaign was coordinated in Ruseifa in cooperation with Ruseifa Water and the Customer Services Directorate - Jordan Water Company Miyahuna on Sunday, in coordination with the Rashid Security Center to remove encroachments on water lines and withdraw them to supply offending properties, preparing the necessary reports for the incident and referring the papers to the competent authorities for completing the legal proceedings.
The Water Authority appreciated the efforts of citizens who report such encroachments, confirming that the law considers the encroachment on water sources a crime punishable by long-term imprisonment and significant financial fines.
