Tasnim Agency America requests a twomonth ceasefire and Iran wants to end the war

Khaberni  - The Iranian Tasnim Agency reported from sources that Tehran responded to a nine-point American proposal through Pakistan focused on ending the war, hours after U.S. President Donald Trump said he was dissatisfied with the latest Iranian proposal.

It mentioned that Washington asked in its proposal for a ceasefire lasting two months, while the Iranian response focused on ending the war and the need to resolve issues within 30 days, focusing on ending the war rather than extending the ceasefire.

Regarding the form of the proposal submitted by Iran, the sources clarified that it consists of 14 points and includes guarantees of non-aggression, withdrawal of U.S. forces from around Iran, lifting the maritime blockade, releasing frozen assets, and paying compensation.

It noted that the proposal also includes lifting sanctions and ending the war on all fronts, including Lebanon, and establishing a new mechanism for the Strait of Hormuz, indicating that Tehran awaits an official response from the United States to its proposal.

Earlier, Fars Agency reported from sources that the 14 points include the aspects Tehran deems necessary to end the war, in response to a nine-point American proposal.

It said the transfer of the Iranian proposal to Pakistan occurred after completing the usual decision-making stages in Iran, confirming that Tehran emphasized its red lines in its plan to end the war permanently.

These developments come despite statements by U.S. President Donald Trump yesterday, expressing dissatisfaction with the latest proposal presented by Iran for negotiations, where the official Iranian news agency "IRNA" reported on Thursday that Tehran delivered the final text of the negotiation draft to Pakistan, which acts as a mediator in the talks with the United States.

Regarding the type of agreement Trump wants, he stated in remarks yesterday, "Any agreement we make with Iran must be bad for them, and it might be better for us not to make any deal at all."

He indicated that Iran is requesting unacceptable terms, while acknowledging ongoing phone negotiations with Tehran.

The ball is in Washington's court

For his part, Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Kazem Gharib Abadi told ambassadors and heads of diplomatic missions stationed in Tehran, that it is up to the United States to choose whether to pursue a negotiated settlement or to return to open warfare, adding that it is prepared for either scenario.

He added, "Iran has submitted its plan to the Pakistani mediator to end the imposed war permanently," adding, "The ball is now in the United States' court to choose the path of diplomacy or continue the approach of confrontation."

He confirmed that Iran is prepared for both paths in order to secure its national interests and security, according to what was reported by the official broadcasting agency.
