The crisis of Amir Eid escalates and a legal move threatens his first cinematic leading role

Khaberni - The crisis of the young artist Amir Eid, founder of the band Cairokee, escalated after he appeared at the condolence of his ex-wife's father, the engineer Omar Al-Farouk, gesturing to journalists with his hand, with a gesture considered an indecency to public decency.

Recent hours have seen a drastic turn in the incident, as a lawyer filed an official complaint to the public prosecutor accusing Amir Eid of making an offensive gesture to the photographers, considering the act a violation of Egyptian societal values and an insult to journalists and photographers while performing their work.

Internal sources from the Musicians' Syndicate reported that there is an intention to summon the artist for investigation, to examine the extent to which his behavior breaches the artistic code of honor, and to understand the circumstances of the incident that caused widespread discontent.

In her first comment, Layla Farouq, the artist's ex-wife, did not just defend the position, but also directed sharp criticisms at the media and photographers, explaining that the deceased's family asked the photographers to leave politely, then firmly, but they refused to comply even after the police were called.

She expressed her displeasure with the neglect of her father's scientific value, the engineer who designed expansions of major mosques, and the focus only on the "trend" and filming moments of private sorrow.

She concluded her speech by asking everyone to respect the space of final goodbyes and to set aside cameras in moments of loss.

On the other hand, those close to Amir Eid tried to contain the situation; a source close to him denied the intention of offence, explaining that the circulated gesture is understood among the younger generations to mean "good luck" or "farewell," and was not meant as an offensive expression as interpreted.

The source mentioned that the artist was going through a bad psychological state and provocative pressures since the day of the funeral, calling on the public to consider the human circumstance rather than jumping to condemn him.

This crisis comes at a sensitive time for the young artist, as he is currently busy filming his new movie "Dreams of the Forgotten Sultan," which represents his first absolute cinematic leading role, placing additional pressure on his public image amid this legal controversy.
