Khaberni - The Jordanian poet and writer Jumana Al-Tarawneh participates in the judging committee of the 2026 School Theater Festival, which is organized by the General Directorate of Education in Muscat, affiliated with the Omani Ministry of Education for the period from 3 to 7 May.
The judging committee includes, alongside Al-Tarawneh, Dr. Shabir Al-Ajmi (Chairman of the Committee), the artist Saeed bin Salem bin Shnoun, and director Alia Al-Balushi (members).
The festival's events will begin on Sunday morning, May 3, with the play (The Red Flower) followed by a performance by student Raghad Firas Saeed, and the play (The Yellow Rectangle); the festival continues with two shows per day, including: (Talk of the Windows), (Conflict Within), (Sunflower), (City of Dreams), (Modern Cinderella).
Al-Tarawneh, a poet, researcher in theater affairs, and a Jordanian lawyer residing in the Sultanate of Oman, has previously participated in several international theater festivals, including the Arab Theater Festival organized by the Arab Theater Authority in 2025 and the Gulf Theater Festival in Riyadh, the International Sahab Festival 2023 in Baghdad as a member of the critique committee, the Jerash Festival for Culture and Arts, the International Babylon Festival for Arts and Cultures, the Istanbul Festival for Arab Poetry, the International Moab Festival, and the Young Arab Poet Festival.
She conducted a practical workshop in performance and display analysis organized by the Directorate of Theater of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth in the headquarters of the Art Association in August 2023, and she authored a book in theater critique titled (Representations of Modernity and Beyond in Omani Theater), about the Arab Theater Authority, and the museum novel (Sabira wa Aseela) by Dr. Ghalia Al Said as an example, published in 2025 by Al-Now Publishers and Distributors in Amman. Additionally, she has another book forthcoming from the Omani Theater Association titled (Ships of Light - Manifestations of the Sea in Omani Theater), alongside her poetic publications: Rhetorical Cuffs, Grip in the Trace of Metaphor, Rebellious Poems, Water's Reproach Winner of the Habib Al-Zayoudi Prize for Poetic Literacy in its fourth session organized by Greater Amman Municipality in the Kingdom of Jordan, in the category Best Poetic Book and (Ruby Ring) published by the House of Poetry in Fujairah Emirate 2025, and she has won several awards including: The Golden Rhymes Prize for Arabic Poetry in Sharjah 2025, Athir Prize for Arabic Poetry, Oscar for Arab Creators, and Gaza Martyrs' Prize.
