Khaberni - Global newspapers have discussed the implications of the Iranian war on the military standing of the United States, the pressures Tehran faces due to the American blockade, and Israel's inability to provide security for its citizens despite the violent attacks on Lebanon.
The New York Times stated in its editorial that the US military "lost its military superiority as a result of President Donald Trump’s reckless management of the conflict." It added that the war on Iran "provided a roadmap for any country wishing to resist the United States in the future, including Russia and North Korea."
The newspaper concluded by saying that Washington must undertake the necessary reforms in the US military, otherwise, it "risks making the setbacks in the Iran war a prelude to something much worse."
In National Interest magazine, an opinion article stated that excessive force "failed to achieve the desired results in Iran," and that this "may force other parties to resolve problems created by the United States itself."
The article views this policy as "unsound, and it damages the United States’ standing in the world," and that the United States has entered a new quagmire in the Middle East and must exit at any cost.
Meanwhile, The Washington Times reported that US officials are optimistic that the blockade will force Iran to open the Strait of Hormuz whose closure has caused significant damage to the global economy in the past two months.
The newspaper quoted the director of the National Economic Council, Kevin Hassett, stating that Iran "is unable to ship oil and other vital goods due to the blockade."
Hassett said that Iranians "are suffering from excessive inflation, and their food supply is on the verge of running out," and that any country's leadership that cares about its citizens would reach an agreement.
Futile War
In other news, The Jerusalem Post stated that northern Israel "remains insecure", and that Hezbollah "poses a threat despite the violent attacks launched by the Israeli military on Lebanon."
The newspaper believes that Tel Aviv’s efforts to create a buffer zone in Lebanon "are futile and will not provide security," indicating that "the time has come to end the war and rely on negotiations with the Lebanese government," and that the presence of Israeli forces in southern Lebanon "is unnecessary."
Meanwhile, The Wall Street Journal published an article noting that Hezbollah has relied on new drones called "FPV" during the latest round of confrontations, stating that they have caused significant damage in Russia and Ukraine.
The article mentioned that these drones are effective today with Hezbollah, playing a significant role in targeting Israeli soldiers, because they are inexpensive, accurate in hitting their targets, and difficult to detect.
