Trump Receives Briefing on New Potential Military Plans Against Iran

Khaberni  -  U.S. President Donald Trump received a security briefing from the U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) commander, Admiral Brad Cooper, on new potential military plans against Iran, according to a report by "Axios".

These plans aim to break the deadlock in nuclear negotiations or to deliver a "final strike", amid a fragile ceasefire with Tehran.

The briefing included options such as a wave of "short and powerful" strikes on Iranian infrastructure, taking control of part of the Strait of Hormuz with ground forces to restore commercial navigation, and securing a stockpile of highly enriched uranium through special forces. General Dan Ken, the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, attended the meeting, focusing on pushing Iran to be more flexible in negotiations.

This comes after reports of Iran recovering its buried missiles, increasing pressure on Trump to make decisive decisions before his anticipated visit to China. The White House has not issued an official comment, but the plans reflect the seriousness of Washington in facing Iranian escalation.

A senior official in the Trump administration stated on Thursday evening that combat activities between the United States and Iran had "ended," for reasons related to the War Powers Act.

The official added, "The parties have agreed on a ceasefire for two weeks starting from Tuesday, the seventh of April, which was extended later.. And there has been no exchange of fire between the U.S. armed forces and Iran since Tuesday, the seventh of April."

President Trump said in an interview with "Newsmax" aired on Friday, that the war his country is leading against Iran has effectively ended, but he wants to achieve a "greater victory".

Trump said, "We have already won the war, but I want a victory by a greater margin," and this statement comes days after the War Secretary Pete Hegseth announced that the naval blockade on Iranian ports will continue "as long as necessary", with the expansion of operations to include the Indian and Pacific Oceans.
