The Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities Implements Cleaning Campaigns as Part of the Cleaning Strategy and Reducing Random Waste

Khaberni - As part of the ongoing efforts of the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities to enhance environmental awareness and to reduce the phenomenon of random waste dumping, and within the national plan aimed at preserving the aesthetics and sustainability of tourist sites, the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities, represented by the Directorate of Tourism of Al Balqa, Directorate of Investment and Community Empowerment, in cooperation with the Jordanian Association of Touristic Restaurants represented by board member Mr. Hassan Madi, Al Balqa Governorate, Greater Salt Municipality, the Touristic, Environmental and Community Police Administration, All Jordan Youth Commission/Al Balqa, Al Hussein Youth Club, and the Jordanian Association for Heritage Preservation, along with volunteers from the local community, carried out cleaning campaigns as part of the cleaning strategy and to reduce random waste disposal for the years 2026-2027, on Thursday, 30/4/2026, in the Al Jadda heritage area and the shrine of Prophet Shu'aib, peace be upon him.

The ministry confirmed that this campaign embodies the importance of collaborative work among various official institutions and local communities in protecting tourist sites, spreading environmental awareness among visitors, integrating roles between official and community entities, and contributes to establishing a culture of shared responsibility to preserve tourist sites, thereby enhancing environmental awareness among visitors and ensuring the sustainability of these sites for future generations.
