In Video A Punch Costs a Goalkeeper 13 Matches in Spain

Khaberni  - On Wednesday, the Spanish Football Federation suspended Esteban Andrada, the Argentine goalkeeper of Real Zaragoza, for 13 matches after he punched a Huesca player in the face during a second division football league match.

The disciplinary committee of the federation said in a statement that the Argentine international and his club will also be fined, after he was first sent off and then "assaulted" Jorge Pulido of Huesca during last Sunday's second division derby.

Andrada was given a 12-match suspension for the punch itself, while the first red card automatically leads to a one-match suspension, effectively ending his season, a major blow to Zaragoza's hopes in their fight to avoid relegation.

The 35-year-old keeper, on loan from Monterrey of Mexico, had pushed Pulido to the ground, prompting the referee to show him the second yellow card.

Then Andrada lost his temper and charged to punch Pulido, sparking a brawl on the pitch at injury time.

Andrada said after the match, "The truth is I am very very sorry for what happened."

He added, "This is not a good image for the club, nor for the fans, and certainly not for a professional player like myself. Therefore, I am very sorry."

Huesca's goalkeeper Dani Jimenez and Zaragoza player Dani Tasende were also sent off following the brawl, in a match that ended with a 1-0 victory for the hosts Huesca. Jimenez was suspended for 4 matches, and Tasende for two.

Zaragoza club stated on Sunday, "We witnessed scenes that do not befit this sport, and should have never occurred."
