Khaberni - His Highness Prince Hussein bin Abdullah II, the Crown Prince, sponsored today, Wednesday, the graduation ceremony of the first batch of conscripts for the military service for the year 2026.
During the ceremony held at the Military Service Training Center, His Highness delivered a speech emphasizing the importance of mobilizing the energies of the youth, pointing to the role of the military service program in building Jordanian character, and investing in the youth and rallying national will.
The Crown Prince touched on the importance of serving Jordan honorably in various fields of work, investing in technology tools, and renewing the commitment to education and skills building, affirming that the strength of Jordan and the cohesion of its people are part of the strength of the Arab nation and its issues.
Following is the text of His Highness the Crown Prince's speech:
"In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Praise be to Allah, and peace and blessings be upon our Arab Hashemite Prophet,
Dear brothers,
Peace be upon you and God's mercy and blessings, and thereafter,
I stand here today in this field feeling genuine pride; the pride of a soldier and the son of a soldier in this nation, a young man who grew up in a home that loves the military and values the honor of service.
I grew up seeing the love for the military in his Majesty the King's eyes, when he speaks about his days in the army or meets those who shared with him the honor of service, or stands among his comrades in arms, those from whom we have learned that the military is not just a rank, but a spirit of belonging to something greater than oneself, and a legacy of pride passed on by deeds not words.
A legacy built by men who believed that this nation deserves to be served and sacrificed for with their lives, so they maintained it with all valor and loyalty, "Men who are true to what Allah has promised."
We now stand in a queue of glory that spans fifty years, to that moment when my grandfather Hussein, may God bless his soul, stood in front of the first battalion who preceded you saying: "Military service is a declaration of the utmost loyalty to the nation," emphasizing that the meanings of soldiery are the foundation on which nations stand and remain.
Later you will understand that these three months were not just a transient station or a training period that ends with graduation but a soul-refining experience that reorders its priorities, and reminds it of what's important.
In military service we learn that loyalty is not just a slogan to be raised, but a trust to be fulfilled in difficult situations... In the army fields, we learn that Jordan is the land of the free where a kind people and true brothers support each other, not splitting when conditions get tough or withdrawing when tasks become difficult.
In military service, we learn respect and cooperation, we eat together, train together, and if one of us falls, we rise together. These values are the core and essence of the authentic Jordanian character that does not change.
Dear brothers,
Today, in a world of rapidly changing environments, regional turbulence requires from all of us awareness, responsibility, readiness, and a national sense. A national sense that puts Jordan first, when everyone wraps around one goal, the national interest, and when determination meets construction, our flag remains raised high, our unity preserved, and our institutions strong. For the strength of Jordan and the cohesion of its children is the strength for the nation and its issues.
Therefore, the importance of mobilizing the energies of the youth is renewed; for it is a true construction of the Jordanian character, an investment in its energies and a rallying of its national will.
Thus we serve Jordan honorably so that every work location becomes a trench, every institution a front of achievement, and every citizen a soldier in the fields of work and construction.
And today, in an era of rapid changes, serving Jordan requires from us a perspective that keeps pace with this change.
Yes, our values are steadfast and do not change, but clinging to yesterday's methods is no longer an option. We should not fear change, for the real danger lies in stagnation… and fear has never been a characteristic of Jordanians.
To trust in ourselves is not arrogance or bragging but is a merit, shaped by a reality this country has tested… but it stood firm… and endured… and passed through difficult stages, emerging steadfast and cohesive.
Dear brothers,
Our assessment of our reality is based not only on facts but also on how we see them. Many see our turbulent location and limited resources as a heavy burden. But I see it as a motivator that has honed our national character... a motivator that made people the center of our strength, innovation our choice, and education our most worthwhile investment... pushed us to achieve much with little... and to build a state that surpassed mere survival, to grow and advance.
And we also have the capacity to launch with all our potential... our destination is a stronger Jordan, a Jordan that relies on itself, exploits the opportunities provided by technology tools, and renews its commitment to education and building skills that meet the demands of the future and its surprises.
And what you have learned in the past period of values and discipline, must be the foundation for all our work in all fields.
We must do what must be done even if the supervisor is absent. And we must make excellence our standard, for today there is no place for shortcuts at work or for half-solutions.
Thus, we reach our destination... We may stumble, but there is no room for withdrawal or retreat or deviation from the goal. For nations are not preserved by intentions nor built by wishes... but by work and achievement.
Yes, we will achieve. Not because it is easy, but because it is necessary... and because it is our irreversible decision. For we are the ones who shape our present and our future. We do not wait for ready-made solutions, nor for shortcuts... We do not need someone to come to save us; the savior is you, and those to your right and to your left, in front and behind. Hand in hand, we build our future together.
Gentlemen,
There is no glory except for those who take challenge as a path, perseverance as a weapon, and determination as a fuel that does not extinguish.
For this nation was not built by ease, nor preserved by hesitation, but was carried on the shoulders of strong men, alongside women who believed in their role in building and giving.
For you are the strength of this nation and its pillar... with you, it stands firm and progresses.
Be confident that today you are creating a path that will be inherited by those after you.
May Jordan remain above all considerations, firm and majestic, with its army and people, resilient against all hardships.
"Proud of you, and God strengthen you".
Peace be upon you and God's mercy and blessings".
Upon his arrival at the venue, His Highness was welcomed by a number of His Royal Highnesses, heads of authorities, the Chief of the Joint Staff Major General Yousef Ahmad Al-Huneiti, the Head of the Royal Hashemite Court Yousef Hassan Al-Issawi, and several senior civil and military officials.
The ceremony featured a parade of conscripts in front of the platform in regular march format, hand-to-hand combat events, and silent infantry displays, which reflected a high level of physical fitness, discipline, and combat skills possessed by the conscripts.
At the end of the ceremony, the Crown Prince awarded commendation prizes to the top conscripts in infantry and combat readiness.
The military service program lasted three months, during which the conscripts underwent an intensive and balanced training program that included a military field course focusing on discipline and physical skills and using light weapons, along with a theoretical course that addressed aspects of active citizenship, national awareness, financial culture, and the realities of the job market.
