Khaberni - Gianni Infantino, President of the International Football Federation, held a meeting with the delegation of the Syrian Football Federation, on the sidelines of the recent FIFA meetings.
The meeting was attended by General Secretary of the International Federation, Matias Grafstrom, alongside the Director of National Associations for Asia and Oceania, Sanjivan Balasingham, and included the Syrian delegation featuring the President of the Federation Feras Moure and his deputy Mohammed Fadi Al-Dabbas, and the General Secretary Mohammed Fadi Al-Ribat, within the framework of following up on football development files in member countries.
During the meeting, the Syrian side presented a detailed overview of the state of football in the country, outlining the extent of damage sustained by the sports infrastructure over the past years, particularly stadiums and training facilities, in addition to the challenges facing the organization of local competitions and the development of age categories.
The President of the Syrian Federation also extended an official invitation to Infantino to visit Syria, with the aim of directly examining the needs of the sports sector and enhancing direct cooperation with the International Federation in rehabilitation and development projects.
