Khaberni - Within the context of field tours and continuous follow-up on the progress of work in different directorates and institutions of the ministry, the Minister of Agriculture, Dr. Saieb Abdul Halim Al-Khraisat, inspected the Central Forestry Directorate today. He reviewed the current situation, the adopted implementation plans, especially those related to reducing encroachments on forest lands and enhancing readiness for the summer season.
During the visit, the minister listened to a briefing provided by the officials about the main programs and measures implemented by the directorate to protect forest wealth, monitoring mechanisms, and field follow-up, in addition to plans put in place to confront any assaults that may affect forests and forested areas, ensuring the preservation of vegetation cover and natural resources.
Al-Khraisat emphasized the importance of doubling efforts in the coming period, especially with the approach of summer and rising temperatures, which requires the highest levels of readiness and preparedness to handle any emergencies, stressing ongoing coordination between different relevant entities, and intensifying surveillance campaigns and field patrols to protect the forests, confirming the importance of providing a safe environment in forests, and elevating the level of cleanliness and maintenance in line with the status of these sites as public facilities that serve the community.
Al-Khraisat pointed out that forest protection is a national and environmental priority, due to its significant role in preserving biodiversity, combating desertification, and enhancing quality of life, calling for enhancing community awareness of the importance of preserving forest wealth and reporting any violations or practices that harm it.
At the end of the tour, the minister appreciated the efforts of the staff of the Central Forestry Directorate, confirming the ministry's continued support for them and providing the necessary capabilities to enable them to perform their tasks efficiently and effectively.
