11 students from the Jordan University of Science and Technology win a global research training program in Canada

Khaberni  - His Excellency the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Professor Dr. Azmi Mahafzah, sponsored the special event for meeting the students accepted into the training program in Canada, organized by the Ministry of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship as part of the Youth and Technology and Jobs project, attended by the President of the Jordan University of Science and Technology Professor Dr. Khaled Al-Salem and a number of Jordanian university presidents at the King Hussein Business Park.
In a remarkable achievement, 11 students from the Jordan University of Science and Technology have won the opportunity to participate in the Mitacs Globalink Research Internship (GRI) for the year 2026, among 29 students from various Jordanian universities, announced during the event.
Al-Salem affirmed that this achievement reflects the advanced academic level of the university’s students and their eagerness to develop their skills and engage in global experiences, noting the university’s continuous support for its students and providing an educational environment that opens up prospects for excellence and innovation.
He added that the students' participation in this program represents an important opportunity to gain practical and knowledge-based experiences, and to familiarize themselves with the latest practices in the fields of technology and innovation, thereby preparing a workforce capable of meeting local and global labor market requirements.
The program is among the most prominent international programs, allowing students to travel to Canada between May and October 2026, and work alongside a group of researchers and faculty members on applied research projects in areas including artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, robotics, advanced energy, and health technologies, with full funding covering travel tickets, accommodation, and living allowances, in addition to professional development opportunities and networking with global academic and industrial entities.
The program aims to enable students to develop their application capabilities, enhance their skills, and build international experiences that contribute to refining their personalities and qualifying them to engage in the fields of digital economy and technology.
