Khaberni - The Income and Sales Tax Department announced that all its directorates and centers across the kingdom will be open next Saturday, to enable taxpayers to submit their income tax declarations and pay the due taxes for the fiscal year 2025, due to the last legal date for submission coinciding with an official holiday, requiring its extension to the next business day according to the legal provisions.
The department clarified that this measure is based on the provisions of Article (75) of the Income Tax Law, which stipulates that if the last deadline coincides with an official holiday, it extends to the first working day following it, and accordingly, next Sunday will be the last legal date for submitting the declarations and paying the taxes declared therein.
The department explained that the Saturday working hours aim to provide an opportunity for taxpayers who have not submitted their tax declarations or paid the declared amounts electronically, to complete their procedures within the legal period and avoid the penalties and legal surcharges due to delays.
The department urged taxpayers to take advantage of the remaining time to submit their income tax declarations for the year 2025 and pay the due taxes, to avoid the penalties stipulated by the law, which include an additional tax for not submitting the declaration, and a fine amounting to 4 per thousand of the tax due for each week of delay or any part thereof.
