Khaberni - Actress Lisa Kudrow revealed the amount she and her co-stars from the "Friends" series continue to earn, more than two decades after the famous comedy series ended.
The Emmy-winning actress disclosed the astonishing sum she and the cast still receive from the "Friends" series while reminiscing about the iconic series in an interview published by the "Times of London," stating that it amounts to 20 million dollars from recurring revenues every year.
Kudrow, who played the quirky and lovable "Phoebe Buffay" throughout the ten seasons from 1994 to 2004, told the newspaper that she rewatched the comedy series, which was long aired on NBC, after the tragic death of her colleague Matthew Perry in 2023 at the age of 54.
The 62-year-old actress shared: "After Matthew's death, I watched the series again. In the past, I only saw what I did wrong or what I could have done better. But for the first time, I truly appreciated how wonderful it was."
She continued: "Because there was a genius at work. Whatever any of us will do in the future, we will never experience something like this again."
While Kudrow felt she "performed well" as Phoebe, she praised the "stunning" performances of Jennifer Aniston and Courteney Cox in the roles of Rachel Green and Monica Geller, respectively.
She enthusiastically commended the humorous work of David Schwimmer and Matt LeBlanc in the roles of Ross Geller and Joey Tribbiani, respectively, before acknowledging that Perry "outshone them all" in the clever and often sarcastic role of Chandler Bing.
While Kudrow recognized that the "Friends" series portrayed "a kind of innocence that perhaps the younger generation might not have experienced," she revealed that "there were definitely bad things happening behind the scenes" in the series.
Although the six actors were actually friends, and their salaries remarkably increased from 22,500 dollars per episode in the first season to one million dollars per episode in the ninth and tenth seasons, they were always in conflict with the writers of the series.
