Khaberni - The independent authority responsible for managing the Panama Canal said on Tuesday that the war between the United States and Iran is expected to lead to an increase in shipping traffic through the canal.
The authority's financial director Victor Vial stated in a meeting, "This situation is expected to continue until the crisis in the Middle East is resolved."
The Iranian forces closed the vital Strait of Hormuz after the start of the American-Israeli aerial campaign on Iran on February 28th.
The United States announced a blockade on Iranian ports after peace talks in Pakistan failed to make any progress, beginning its implementation on April 13th.
