A Dangerous Relationship Heart and Kidney Diseases May Pave the Way to Cancer

Khaberni - A recent medical study has shown that the deterioration of heart, blood vessel, and kidney health, along with metabolic disorders, increases the risk of cancer.

The researchers pointed out that what is known as Cardio-Metabolic Syndrome (CMS), which includes high blood pressure, high blood sugar, obesity, cholesterol disorders, and declining kidney functions, poses a significant health risk. It may lead to chronic inflammation, which increases the probability of developing cancer, a focus of the study.

During the research, scientists analyzed data from about 1.4 million people, followed for an average of 3.5 years. The results showed that the risk of developing cancer significantly increases in the advanced stages of this syndrome. While the increase was limited in the early stages, the risk rose by between 25 and 30% as the condition worsened compared to healthier individuals.

The researchers suggest that the reason may be due to the interaction of heart, kidney, and metabolic disorders together, creating an environment conducive to disease development, including cancer.

They also noted that many risk factors, such as chronic inflammation, metabolic disorders, and vascular changes, are common between cardiovascular diseases and cancer. Therefore, controlling blood pressure, blood sugar levels, and weight may contribute to reducing the risk of several serious diseases at once.
