Khaberni - 8 people were martyred in Lebanon on Tuesday, in Israeli raids, including 3 members of the Civil Defense. At the time, the Israeli occupying army, which continues its strikes despite the ceasefire, said it had found a vast network of Hezbollah tunnels in the south of the country.
The war in Lebanon began on March 2, after Hezbollah launched rockets at Israel in response to the killing of Iran's Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei in a US-Israeli attack on Iran.
Israel began a massive campaign of airstrikes and a land invasion of areas in southern Lebanon bordering its borders.
A ten-day ceasefire came into effect starting from April 17. US President Donald Trump announced on the 23rd its extension for three weeks.
The Lebanese Civil Defense reported the martyrdom of 3 of its members "while they were carrying out a rescue and medical aid mission for the injured due to an Israeli raid that targeted a building" in the town of Majdal Zoun in southern Lebanon on Tuesday.
The Lebanese army, for its part, reported that two of its soldiers were injured in the same strike.
The Lebanese Ministry of Health reported that two other people were martyred in this raid as well, while it had earlier reported the martyrdom of a person by another Israeli raid on the town of Jouaya in southern Lebanon, which also resulted in 15 people being injured.
The ministry also announced that at least two people were martyred and 13 others injured in an Israeli raid on the town of Jibsheet in southern Lebanon, in a "preliminary toll."
Lebanese President Michel Aoun condemned the Israeli aggression that led to the martyrdom of Civil Defense members, considering it "proof that Israel continues to violate international laws and conventions that protect civilians and paramedics."
Lebanese Prime Minister Nawaf Salam also condemned the targeting of Civil Defense members in Majdal Zouein, southern Lebanon.
Salam stated via "X" that the targeting is a new war crime committed by Israel, constituting a violation of the principles and rules of international humanitarian law.
He added that the government will spare no effort to condemn this "abominable" crime internationally and rally all efforts to compel Israel to stop its violations.
