Skull fracture Woman killed in air conditioner explosion in Alexandria

Khaberni - A tragic incident occurred at a government agency in Alexandria, resulting in the death of a woman due to a sudden explosion in an air conditioning unit on top of the building while she was in the vicinity of the place.

Medical sources at El-Miri University Hospital reported that the injured woman arrived in extremely critical condition, having sustained severe injuries including a skull fracture and severe internal bleeding, resulting from parts of the air conditioning unit falling upon her after the explosion.

She was immediately transported to the hospital in an attempt to save her life; however, she succumbed to her injuries amidst a state of sorrow among her family members.

Security forces were notified of the explosion on the roof of the building, and police forces and ambulances were promptly dispatched to the scene, where they secured the area and imposed a security cordon to deal with the situation.

The initial inspection indicated that the incident was caused by an electrical short circuit inside the air conditioning unit, leading to its explosion and scattering of its parts on those present below the building. Necessary legal procedures were taken, and the public prosecution was notified to start the investigations and uncover the details of the incident. Meanwhile, the competent authorities continue to examine the causes of the incident and ensure that maintenance and safety standards within government facilities are enforced.
