Neither ChatGPT nor Claude The Best AI Platform in 2026

Khaberni - The American Customer Satisfaction Index (ACSI)  is an American national index used to gauge customer satisfaction with products and services across various sectors within the United States. It conducted its first specialized study to measure user satisfaction with artificial intelligence platforms, marking a new phase of maturity in this sector amid close competition among the prominent global players.

Evaluation methodology.. 6 platforms and 4 main criteria

The study covered six leading platforms: Gemini, ChatGPT, Grok, Claude, Copilot, and Perplexity AI.

The evaluation was based on four primary indicators: the ability to perform complex tasks, trust level, result accuracy, and user interface ease.

The results were calculated on a scale from 0 to 100 points, based on average performance across these criteria, with the participation of 2711 users.

The results showed Gemini, a Google associated platform, leading with 76 points, topping the overall ranking.

Microsoft's Copilot assistant came in second with 74 points, while the platforms ChatGPT and Claude tied for third place with 73 points each.

In the last rank, the platforms Perplexity AI and Grok both scored 71 points, reflecting a clear convergence in performance levels among all platforms included in the study.

Although these results seem positive, the report indicated that the average rating in the seventies matches customer satisfaction levels in sectors such as energy services, social networking platforms, and mortgage finance, which are not usually known for high user satisfaction.

Usage patterns
The study revealed a striking paradox in user behavior, as 56% of participants reported that they had not used any AI platform recently.

Conversely, active users heavily relied on these tools, with 61% of them confirming they use them several times daily, reflecting their transformation into daily tools for a specific segment.

Income is a decisive factor in adopting artificial intelligence

The results highlighted a direct relationship between income level and the use of artificial intelligence. While the usage rate was generally 44%, it rose to 72% among individuals whose annual incomes exceed $100,000, with most of them using these platforms daily.

Paid versions clearly outperform
In terms of paid services, the study showed the paid version of Gemini excelling with 82 points, followed by ChatGPT with 80 points, while Perplexity ranked last in this category with 74 points.

These results indicate that paid subscriptions offer a relatively better experience than the free versions, in terms of both performance and user satisfaction.

Privacy and security concerns remain
Despite technological advancements, concerns about data security and privacy remain strong, as this index scored 72 points, slightly less than the overall average of 73 points.

This slight difference reflects the ongoing concern among users about how these platforms handle their data, highlighting the importance of caution when sharing sensitive information.

The future of artificial intelligence: Divergence in opinion
The study showed a clear split in users' views on the future of artificial intelligence, with 21% of participants expressing great optimism, versus a similar percentage who expressed significant concern.

The study results reflect that the AI market is witnessing close competition among major companies, with a slight lead for the Gemini platform, while challenges of trust and privacy persist, along with clear differences in user adoption of this technology, making its future open to multiple scenarios.
