UAE Asian arrested for promoting drugs through electronic cigarettes

Khaberni - The Sharjah Police General Command, represented by the Directorate of Drug Prevention, announced the arrest of a suspect of Asian nationality, following monitoring and surveillance operations confirming his possession of a quantity of drugs intended for promotion. It emphasized that, stemming from the leadership's concern for youth and families and its continual aim to protect the society from any threats to its security and stability, the security authorities are committed to countering the spread of drugs, affirming that they will not show leniency in dealing with anyone who dares to distribute or promote these poisons in any form.

Brigadier Majid Sultan Al Asam - Director of the Directorate of Drug Prevention, stated through investigations it was revealed that the accused had turned his residence into a small hub for filling and packaging electronic cigarettes with narcotic substances for promotion purposes. During the raid of the location, a quantity of manually packed electronic cigarettes was seized, in addition to tools and equipment used in the filling and packaging process.

Brigadier Al Asam pointed to the ongoing efforts of the security forces in combating the scourge of drugs, and that dealing with such crimes is conducted through precise plans based on surveillance, monitoring, and coordination; to ensure the arrest of promoters and to protect the community. He affirmed that drugs pose a direct threat to the security and safety of youth, and that the security forces will not relent in pursuing anyone proven to be involved in importing or promoting these substances.

The Sharjah Police General Command renews its call to community members, especially parents, to pay close attention to their children's behaviors and to continuously monitor them, and to enhance open family dialogue with them; as this plays a significant role in protecting them from falling into the clutches of this dangerous scourge.
