Khaberni - The Ministry of Justice launches on Tuesday the electronic notary services, which allow the completion of transactions remotely through electronic signing, contributing to facilitating procedures for residents outside the kingdom and enabling them to complete their transactions with ease.
Minister of Justice Bassam Talhouni said on Thursday that the Cabinet approved in its session held on April 14, 2026, the notary transaction fees system for the year 2026.
Talhouni explained that the mentioned system stipulated a reduction in fees when resorting to using electronic notary services in order to encourage citizens to use digital services, noting that the same fees will be maintained in case of personally reviewing the notary.
He clarified that the differences between the two types of fees could sometimes reach from 25 to 40%, due to saving costs related to conventional services such as the use of paper and ink, use of buildings and energy savings, reducing congestion, not to mention speeding up and facilitating for the citizen.
It is noted that the system will be effective after its publication in the official Gazette.
The projects of both systems are implemented in accordance with the provisions of the Notary Law, which allows the use of electronic means and visual and audible communication systems in the tasks and competences carried out by the notary in execution of the law’s provisions.
Both systems regulate procedures in case these means are used when completing notary transactions, aiming to align the provisions of notary transaction fees with economic and legislative developments and ensuring they are appropriate for the nature of the services provided and the sustainability of the financial resources associated with judicial services, supporting the principles of governance.
The projects support the digital transformation operations in notary services by enabling the electronic collection of fees and offering reduced fees for electronic payment operations, which facilitates for citizens and links them with the related government systems, contributing to speeding up the completion of transactions and developing the services provided to the citizen.
