Elephant Tramples American Businessman to Death

Khaberni - The American newspaper Daily Mail reported that a female elephant trampled an American millionaire to death during a hunting trip in Africa.

The newspaper reported that the American businessman, Ernie Dozier, who was 75 years old, was accompanying a professional hunter during a trip in a tropical forest, when they encountered a herd consisting of five female forest elephants with a calf.

It indicated that the animals, feeling threatened, attacked the two men.

The attack resulted in the professional hunter sustaining serious injuries, while Dozier, who was armed with a hunting rifle, was unable to defend himself, leading to the elephant trampling him to death.

The newspaper clarified that the US embassy in Gabon is currently coordinating the process of returning Dozier's body to his home state of California.

According to experts cited by the newspaper, elephant attacks are rare in this region and typically occur during sudden encounters in dense forests, especially if calves are present in the herd.

The Daily Mail also reminded that African elephants are the largest land animals on Earth, making them extremely dangerous when attacking, as females can reach heights of about four meters, and can run at speeds of about 40 kilometers per hour.
