Khaberni - A father whose wife was pregnant with their second child was gored to death during the Spanish bull running festival in a horrific attack that occurred in an area known as "Hell Street".
A breath-taking video circulated online shows the bull lifting livestock handler Santiago Barriero San Roman, 33, then repeatedly stabbing him with its horns during the "San Marcos" festival in Jaen.
The enraged animal continued to beat San Roman, a livestock handler and father of a young daughter, on "Calle Palomares", locally known as "Hell Street" due to the intense bull running there.
San Roman was cornered and pressed against a fence, despite other celebrants' utmost efforts to restrain the animal. About six spectators pulled a rope wrapped around the bull's horns, while others took shelter behind a temporary fence.
The Spanish media outlet "El Haberler" reported that San Roman, who belonged to a local livestock breeding lineage, suffered serious injuries to his abdomen, chest, and groin, and later died in the hospital. He left behind his daughter and his pregnant wife Vanessa, who is expecting a second daughter.
The grieving widow wrote on Instagram: "You are the most beautiful thing that ever happened to me, from the moment I wake up to the time I go to sleep, you are my first and last thought."
She added: "You are everything to me, and to our daughters. I hope you give me strength and accompany me every day of my life, and at every step of the way, because I swear I will never stop thinking about you, our dreams, our plans, and our life together.. I am shattered for life because life took you from me unjustly and way too soon, as you had a whole life ahead of you with all you achieved."
She concluded: "Your daughters, your mother, your best friends, and everyone in the world of bullfighting truly loved you, all are shattered, but we will always keep you in our hearts, my love."
San Roman died just four days after the famous bullfighter Morante de La Puebla, nicknamed "the king of bullfighters", was gored in his rectum during a poorly conducted show at the crowded "Maestranza" arena in Seville.
