Khaberni - The life of an American millionaire ended tragically during a hunting trip in Africa after he was crushed by a female elephant, according to the "Daily Mail".
The newspaper reported that the American businessman, Ernie Dozio, 75 years old, went on a hunting trip in a tropical forest with a professional hunter, when they encountered a herd of female forest elephants with her calf.
It added that the animals felt threatened by the two men, which led them to attack.
The attack resulted in serious injuries to the professional hunter, while Dozio died, despite being armed with a hunting rifle, when he was trampled to death by an elephant.
The U.S. Embassy in Gabon is working to repatriate Dozio's body back to his home state of California.
African elephants are the largest land animals on earth, with females reaching about four meters in height, and they can reach speeds of about 40 kilometers per hour.
