Khaberni - The Secretary-General of the Ministry of Transport, Fares Abu Dayyeh, held a coordination meeting with his Saudi counterpart, Deputy Minister of the Saudi Ministry of Transport for Rail Transport, Badr Abdullah Al-Hajailan, via video call with the participation of technical delegations from both sides, to discuss ways to enhance cooperation in railway projects and develop regional connectivity between the two countries.
Abu Dayyeh, according to a statement, affirmed that this meeting comes within the framework of both sides' keenness on driving integration paths in the transport sector, pointing out the importance of rail linkage projects in supporting trade movement and facilitating the flow of goods between the two countries and the region.
The Saudi side reviewed its most prominent projects, including the "East Train" and the "North Train" reaching the Jordanian border, in addition to the readiness of the Al Qurayyat area for rail connectivity, while the Jordanian side presented the features of the national railway network project and its implementation priorities.
The two parties discussed a number of technical and logistical issues, most notably the unification of technical specifications and the exchange of related studies and documents, which enhances the efficiency of execution and ensures the integration of projects. An agreement was also reached to continue coordination and exchange of information in support of joint rail linkage projects and to enhance regional integration in the transport sector.
