Honoring Distinguished Students in Creativity at the College of Architecture and Design by the President of Amman Ahliyya Univer

Khaberni  - Professor Dr. Sari Hamdan, President of Amman Ahliyya University, honored the creatively distinguished students of the College of Architecture and Design in appreciation of their outstanding achievements in various artistic and design competitions and awards, in a scene that reflects the university's concern to foster student excellence and celebrate creative accomplishments as an integral part of its academic identity.

The honoring ceremony was held in the presence of Professor Dr. Rama Al-Rabadi, the dean of the college, and Dr. Hanan Al-Sheikh, the deputy dean for Accreditation and Quality Affairs.

Professor Dr. the university president expressed his pride in what the college students achieve in terms of honorable presence and qualitative achievements, stressing that the university's mission relies on three fundamental elements which are: the structure of academic programs, faculty members, and students, and that this integration is what creates a university environment capable of producing excellence and transforming young energies into true success stories.

He also emphasized the university's constant commitment to supporting its students and encouraging them, providing an environment that aids their creativity, excellence, and competition effectively and efficiently.

Dr. Al-Rabadi clarified that this honoring comes in recognition of student participations that reflected a high level of seriousness and ability to compete, noting that the creative and design achievements included the Horani Award for Arts and Design organized annually by Amman Ahliya University, the Story of Resilience Award for the city of Salt as part of a project supported by the University of Bath, alongside the international Arab Starpack competition.

She added that Horani Award in its fifth session came under the title "Completing the Journey: Jordan 2049," which provided students ample space for expression and creativity, and linking the design idea with a future national horizon.

The students who won first places received certificates of appreciation, cash prizes, and in-kind awards from the university president, which included winners in the Horani Award for Arts and Design - session five, 2024/2025, namely: Kristel George Habshi, Maiser Basam Mazhar, and Zeina Khalil Akour for the short video category through a joint project, and Layan Ashraf Qawasmi and Rahaf Mahmoud Hamdan for the drawing category.

The honoring also included winners in the Story of Resilience Award for the city of Salt: Darin Iyad Al-Hares, Samira Nader Sawaidan, Yasmin Mahand Nur Al-Din, Joud Naim Shamout, and Ahmad Abu Khas, from a team formed from all sections of the college, clearly indicating the spirit of integration between disciplines, and the college's ability to produce collaborative creative projects that express visual, intellectual, and human awareness.

In the international Arab Starpack competition, Maiser Basam Mazhar was honored for winning first place, an achievement that adds to a series of successes achieved by the college students in the field of applied graphic design, confirming their ability to compete and excel in specialized local and international forums.

This honoring reaffirms Amman Ahliyya University's approach to nurturing creativity, supporting student excellence, and enhancing the presence of its students in specialized forums, thereby consolidating the status of the College of Architecture and Design as an academic environment conducive to achievement and innovation, capable of preparing students who possess creative sensibility, professional competency, and the ability to compete and represent the university honorably in various platforms and awards.
