Khaberni - The International Red Cross announced on Sunday that it facilitated the transfer of 15 detainees from the Gaza Strip who were released and then transported from the Kerem Shalom crossing to Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital, and also facilitated their communication and reunion with their families.
The International Committee, in a statement, clarified that it has been unable to access the detainees held in Israeli detention centers since October 2023, emphasizing the need to be informed of the fate of all detainees and their whereabouts, and to be allowed access to them.
The Committee affirmed that under international humanitarian law, detainees must be treated humanely, provided with acceptable detention conditions, and allowed to communicate with their families.
The committee added that many Palestinian families are anxiously waiting for any news about their detained loved ones, concerned about their health and safety, and confirmed the continuation of its dialogue with the Israeli authorities to resume its visits to all Palestinian detainees.
