Khaberni - The Spanish radio station "Cadena COPE" revealed on Saturday evening details of the conflict between Real Madrid player Vinicius Junior and former coach Xabi Alonso, stating that the Brazilian verbally abused the technical director and hurled profanities at him during his exit from the "El Clásico" match against Barcelona last October.
Vinicius left the "Santiago Bernabéu" stadium angrily during a match between Real Madrid and Barcelona last October after coach Xabi Alonso decided to substitute him, and the disputes between them became publicly visible before the Spanish coach was dismissed from his position last January following the loss to Barcelona in the Spanish Super Cup final.
Journalist Paco González from "Cadena COPE" radio stated: The conflict between Vinicius and Alonso did not start in the El Clásico match but months earlier, specifically in the Club World Cup held in the summer of 2025 in the United States, where Xabi decided to try a starting lineup including Kylian Mbappé and Gonzalo Garcia, leaving Vinicius as a substitute which obviously did not sit well with the Brazilian star.
He continued: "Vinny" exploded in anger, causing problems within the team camp, which eventually made Xabi Alonso reconsider his decision and include him in the starting lineup.
González continued discussing the Brazilian's problem with his Spanish coach: Vinicius felt angry after seeing that coach Alonso asked to substitute him from the Real Madrid and Barcelona match field, exploded in front of Xabi and said, "I'm always the one who is substituted, fine, I'll leave the team" before he hurled profanities and insulted him with demeaning sexual signage.
The Brazilian player played 33 matches under Xabi Alonso, scoring 7 goals and providing 10 crucial assists.
