Khaberni - The Middle East Studies Center's Board of Trustees chose Dr. Mohammed Abu Hammour as its president during its annual meeting, succeeding Dr. Ali Muhafaza and Jamal Al-Rifa'i as vice-president for the period 2026-2028.
The Center clarified in a statement today, Sunday, that the Board discussed the administrative and financial reports of the Center for the year 2025, praising the Center's programs and its activities which are considered a culmination of what began 35 years ago.
The Board presented the Center's directions for the period 2026-2030 and its programmatic plan, and provided a number of observations and recommendations for the Center's management to study and consider what is appropriate for the reality of the Center and its capabilities, affirming the need to achieve sustainability and continue its research, scientific, and intellectual work.
Abu Hammour appreciated the trust of his colleagues in the Council in choosing him as president, looking forward to performing this important role in cooperation with them to serve the Center's programs and its national and intellectual role for the coming two years.
It is noted that the Middle East Studies Center is an independent scientific center established in Jordan in 1991 and includes in its structure advisory bodies and councils, multiple research teams, including the Board of Trustees, the Scientific Council, the Planning Council, the Editorial Board of Middle Eastern Studies magazine, and the Arab Crisis Team, comprising a group of elite from the Jordanian and Arab community leaders, and a variety of specialties and experiences.
