College of Aviation Sciences in Amman Arab University organizes a specialized workshop titled How Space Technology Serves Civil

Khaberni - In its commitment to keep up with scientific and technological advancements and enhance the knowledge of its students in modern fields related to the aviation sector, under the supervision of Dr. Malek Al-Salem Al-Anaqreh, Dean of the College of Aviation Sciences, the college organized a training workshop titled: "How Space Technology Serves Civil Aviation", presented by Dr. Qais Al-Amri from the Regional Center for the Teaching of Space Science and Technology, attended by Dr. Ahmad Al-Hasban, Head of Aircraft Maintenance Department, and several faculty members and students from different specialties.

The workshop addressed the prominent applications of space technology in supporting and developing civil aviation operations. Dr. Al-Amri reviewed the role of satellites and Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS) and remote sensing technologies in enhancing the efficiency of air traffic management, improving safety levels, and the accuracy of air tracking and monitoring systems. He also mentioned the role of these technologies in improving the planning of air routes, reducing fuel consumption and emissions, thereby contributing to sustainability in the aviation sector. He emphasized the importance of integrating space technology with the aviation sector to develop the air services system and keep up with rapid digital transformations, especially with the move towards automation and the use of big data in decision-making. The workshop witnessed an outstanding interaction from the students, through their quality questions and inquiries, reflecting their growing awareness of the importance of this field, their interest in exploring the horizons of using space technology in civil aviation, and familiarizing themselves with future career opportunities linked to this dynamic and evolving sector.

This workshop is part of the ongoing efforts of the College of Aviation Sciences at Amman Arab University in organizing scientific and practical activities that contribute to linking theoretical knowledge with practical application and preparing students who are capable of keeping pace with developments in the civil aviation sector.
