Khaberni - In an academic achievement reflecting the international academic presence of faculty members at Arab Amman University, Dr. Yazan Al-Muhamaid, a faculty member in the Department of English Language and Translation, Faculty of Arts and Sciences, specialized in Linguistics, participated as an external examiner for a doctoral thesis in Applied Linguistics at Newcastle University, Australia.
The thesis titled: "Variation in the Phonetic and Morphological Form of English Loanwords Produced by Speakers of Jordanian-Arabic in Jordan and in Australia", examined the variation in the phonetic and morphological forms of English loanwords among speakers of Jordanian Arabic in both Jordan and Australia, reflecting the influence of the linguistic and social environment on the formation of different language patterns. The thesis discussion was conducted remotely, where Dr. Al-Muhamaid provided a detailed scientific report including the academic committee's comments and their evaluation of the thesis content, methodology, and results, concluding with the approval of the thesis with some moderate modifications.
