Trump Facing Danger 8 Assassination Attempts Over 10 Years

Khaberni - A new assassination attempt targeted U.S. President Donald Trump during the White House Correspondents' Dinner on Saturday night – Sunday.

This incident is the latest in a series of documented attacks that began during Trump's first presidential campaign, according to Axios.

The attacks targeting Trump include shootings at his political rallies, assassination attempts, and frequent security breaches.

The incident occurred at 8:30 PM Eastern Time at the Washington Hilton Hotel, where the dinner was held, and Trump was scheduled to speak at the event, attended by his Vice President JD Vance, and several members of his administration and Congress.

After the shooting, Trump told reporters, "This is not the first time in the past two years that our republic has been attacked by someone attempting an assassination."

During his last campaign, Trump survived two assassination attempts that revealed failures in the Secret Service, leading to investigations and dismissals of agency leaders.

In Butler - Pennsylvania: 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Croxs fired a rifle at a Trump rally, hitting him in the ear before the bullet killed one of the attendees.

A Secret Service sniper shot the attacker dead, and a subsequent Senate report blamed the agency's planning, communications, and leadership.

The second attempt took place in West Palm Beach – Florida, where Ryan Wesley Roth was seen carrying a rifle at Trump's golf club while the latter was playing. A Secret Service agent shot at Roth, who fled and was later arrested and sentenced to life imprisonment.

But Trump's assassination attempts date back further, for instance, in June 2016: a 20-year-old British citizen tried to snatch a police officer's gun during a Trump rally in Las Vegas, and later informed security personnel that he intended to kill Trump.

In September 2017: a man stole a forklift in North Dakota and directed it towards the president's motorcade.

In September 2020: a dual French-Canadian citizen sent a letter to Trump containing the poison "ricin."

In his second term, specifically in July 2024: a Pakistani man was arrested, and later convicted of planning to assassinate Trump for a fee on behalf of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard, and months later, an Iranian accused of attempting to kill another American citizen stated that he received similar instructions to kill Trump.

In February 2026: a 21-year-old man, carrying a hunting rifle and a gas can at Mar-a-Lago, was killed by the Secret Service while Trump was in Washington.
