Khaberni - Jordanian energy expert Hashim Aql predicts a rise in some types of fuel prices in the Kingdom for the coming month (May), due to changes in global energy prices.
Aql suggested that the price of 90-octane gasoline might see an increase of 90 fils, equivalent to a 10% rise, and the price of 95 gasoline by 150 fils, which is 12.5%, while the price of diesel is expected to increase by 75 fils, also by 10%.
Aql confirmed that the price of kerosene will be fixed, as well as the price of a gas cylinder, with the government providing direct support of about two and a half dinars for each gas cylinder to alleviate financial pressures on citizens, especially in light of continuous increases in global fuel prices.
Aql also stated that these measures are part of the government's plan to minimize negative impacts on households and consumers, and to ensure price stability as much as possible amidst current economic challenges and the phased reflection of global price increases on local prices.
