Khaberni - A violent assault occurred at an Egyptian youth center where the center's director in Abu Hammad, Sharqia Governorate, was attacked with a blade while he was performing his duties, an incident that caused widespread shock among the locals.
The youth center's director, Captain Emad Hassanain, was injured while at work, resulting in a severe cut wound to the neck and serious injuries that required about 80 surgical stitches.
According to preliminary details, a verbal altercation erupted between the center's director and some young people who tried to enter the center on motorcycles, in violation of the rules and regulations for entering the center.
Investigations revealed that the altercation quickly escalated into a violent physical assault, where one of the belligerents stabbed the director in the neck with a blade (a razor).
The injured was immediately transferred to the hospital where he underwent precise surgery to save his life, and his condition is currently described as stable after the surgical stitches.
The incident caused significant outrage among the residents of Abu Hammad, who considered it a treacherous attack on an official fulfilling his duty in serving the youth and sports in the area.
The security forces in the Sharqia Security Directorate quickly arrested the main suspect, and investigations are ongoing with him and the other participants in the brawl under the supervision of the public prosecutor, to determine the full details of the incident and to take the necessary legal actions.
Youth centers in Egypt are vital institutions offering sports, cultural, and social services to the youth, and their directors often face challenges in enforcing regulations, especially regarding the prohibition of motorcycles' entry or maintaining order within the facilities.
