Trump Cancels Kushners Trip to Pakistan Iran Must Contact Us

Khaberni - In a surprising move reflecting a shift in the negotiation trajectory, US President Donald Trump announced on Saturday evening the cancellation of the mission of his envoys Jared Kushner and Steve Witkoff, which was scheduled to Islamabad for talks with the Iranian side.

Trump stated in a press release that the US administration decided to stop the 18-hour delegation trip, considering that Washington holds "all the cards" in the current conflict with Tehran, and there is no need to send high-level delegations to travel long distances to "talk about nothing".

The American president added decidedly: "I told my team as they were preparing to leave to stop.. If the Iranians want to negotiate, they know how to reach us, and they can contact us anytime they want."

Trump's statements coincide with the departure of the Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi from Pakistan, after a series of meetings held on Saturday with the Prime Minister of Pakistan and the army chief, to discuss what Tehran described as the "red lines" in the nuclear deal and ceasefire.

Analysts believe that Trump's decision aims to exert maximum political pressure on Tehran, forcing it to pursue direct channels with the US without relying entirely on regional intermediaries, posing a significant challenge to Pakistani mediation efforts amid stubborn stances between the parties.
